ATTENTION NYC PROGRAMS: The New York City Department for the Aging Social Adult Day Care (SADC) Ombuds Office and the New York State Adult Day Services Association are continuing to monitor the rapidly changing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. The NYC Emergency Executive Order 100, section 17, which closed older adult congregate centers operating within the City has been revoked.

I hereby direct that older adult congregate centers operating within the City that were ordered closed pursuant to Emergency Executive Order No. 100 may resume outdoor activities beginning June 1, 2021, and may resume indoor activities beginning June 14, 2021. All such activities shall be conducted in accordance with any applicable guidance of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, New York City Department for the Aging, and the New York State Department of Health. Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of this section, in order to provide access to food for older adults, any such older adult congregate center may continue to operate to the extent necessary to prepare and distribute meals.

What does this mean? At this time, ALL SADC centers in New York City may resume indoor activities beginning June 14, 2021.
